| 8 wholegrain Brennans Bread slices; Soft butter or margarine; 2/3 cup creamy peanut butter; 1/3 cup apple sauce; 1/4 cup finely chopped apple, not peeled; 4 crisp-cooked bacon slices; shredded lettuce, (optional). Lightly spread the bread with butter or margarine. Combine the peanut butter and apple sauce, mixing until smooth. Stir in the chopped apple and bacon. Spread 4 bread slices with filling and top with remaining slices. If you wish, add lettuce to each sandwich. |
